Its hard not drinking in a culture that is so drink-centric.   I have quit drinking for many months, many times (longest being 6 months), but always found myself drinking again.

Even though I like myself better, I take care of myself more, and I am a happier person when not drinking alcohol, I find myself justifying drinking again.

Its a part of being human that you want to fit in and do what everyone else is doing, and we have been so brainwashed by commercials and the alcohol industry that we think we need alcohol to have a good time.

Low and behold, I would feel like I was missing out or being to “all or nothing” and convince myself there were benefits to drinking.  Then, after drinking again for a while, I wanted all the benefits of not-drinking again.  Vicious cycle eh.

Life is a journey and while I cant say I will never touch another drop of alcohol in my life, for me, life is truly better off the sauce.

Here are the many benefits I gain from being alcohol free.
