3 THINGS TO REMEMBER THIS CHRISTMAS

idly hands are the devils plaything (4)

Christmas is such a magical time of year, mostly everyone is in a good mood.

Time off work, parties, food, good movies and presents 🙂

But every year it seems to fly by in a whirlwind.

There is always so much to do and so many different places to go (especially if there are two sets of parents etc.)

I find myself rushing through it and worrying about the small things and by the time I know it Christmas is over.

This year I am going to make sure I:

1. APPRECIATE TIME WITH LOVED ONES

I hear a lot of people complain about having to see family over the holidays.  Getting together with family over the holidays can be tough for some people, I get that.  But, for me I choose to have the mindset that I get to spend time with loved ones.  Luckily my family is really close and I still have both my parents living,  but just imagine there will come a day when not everyone is around anymore.  Mom and dad, or grandmas and grandpas wont always be here.  We wont always be at the same stages in life, or live in the same places.  We take these things for granted until they are gone.

2. BE GRATEFUL

So many people think Christmas is about giving and receiving gifts.  And while that is partially true, its more about celebrating love and grace.  God has given each of us so much in which we don’t truly give thanks for.  We have people who love us, money to buy extras, good food and a roof over our heads.  I am going to take this time to really be appreciative for all the good God does in my life every single day, but especially on Christmas.

3. LIVE IN THE PRESENT MOMENT

How many times do we go to a get together and yet sit staring at our phones? We don’t converse the same as we used too, we are too wrapped up in other things and distractions   This Christmas I am going to be fully present in each single moment.  Not thinking about boxing day sales tomorrow, or NYE, I am just going bask in the laughter and fun and fully be in the now.

I hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas!
