They say most people gain an average of 5-7 lbs during Christmas. Id say more like 10-15 lbs… 🙂 lol… but I digress.
Some people have iron strength will and eat healthy all through Christmas….. who are these people and where were they born?
If your anything like me, I eat any and all of the treats and food, and I never worry about it. I don’t count calories or feel guilty or any of that crap. I have the rest of the year for that right?!
I am really into healthy living and so every year for Christmas I get new health and fitness related gifts. Its awesome because I cant wait to start using my new things, and it motivates me to have a fresh start! This year I got a yoga mat, new running shoes, a new ninja blender for my protein shakes, onesie pjs and tons of new face masks and spa stuff. I am going to be #selfcarequeen2019
As a girl who can lose 10 lbs in a week and also gain 10 lbs in a week I am going to share how I get back on track after Christmas
START MY MORNINGS WITH WARM LEMON WATER
I help my body flush the extra toxins and waste by drinking a glass of warm lemon water before I drink or eat anything else. This helps me start my day off on a good foot and helps with my H20 intake for the day. Click here for why I drink warm lemon water every morning, Christmas or not.
DRINK AT LEAST 3L OF WATER A DAY
To tie into point number one, I make sure I am drinking at least 3 L a day. This helps reduce bloat, brain fog and helps my body eliminate the excess acids in the blood stream.
TRY TO FAST UNTIL NOON
Or better yet, I try to only eat between 12pm-8pm. This Intermittent fasting gives my body the extra energy it needs to repair and replenish. It will spend more time detoxing my body and less time digesting more food. I give my body as much time as possible to be at rest and not constantly digesting food. This will help get rid of bloat, a couple of those extra lbs and make me feel more energetic.
EXERCISE FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES
I break a sweat for a minimum of 30 minutes a day. I focus more on cardio after big events like Christmas because it helps my stomach feel flatter and less bloated and I have the extra energy to burn! But whatever you do- get a sweat going and work off some of that Christmas Dinner. It releases feel good chemicals too 🙂
SPEND TIME IN THE SAUNA
Getting into the sauna after a workout is probably the best feeling ever. Saunas help us to sweat, release toxins and bloat. It is also a really nice way to de stress and spend some quite time after the hectic Christmas season.
HAVE A DETOX BATH
I do these regardless, but its a perfect time to do a detox bath too. Put in some essential oils, epsom salts, put on some nice music and let your body do the rest. Click here for my ultimate detox bath recipe.
I go from sugar coma, tired, lethargic and bloated…. too feeling energetic, hydrated and slim again in no time!
On to the new year!
